Via Feminist Law Professors, here’s a website that tracks women in leadership positions throughout the world. According to the website, there are “192 members of the United Nations, 2 independent states outside, a few self-declared de-facto independent states and many self-ruling depencies.” Only 23 of them – about 11.5% – have female leaders, whether they’re presidents, prime ministers, or monarchs.
On the national level, we blogged about women in high-ranking positions in the incoming Obama Administration, and the ever-increasing number of women in the federal and state legislatures.
