At the Philadelphia abortion helpline, counselors arrive each morning to the nonstop ring of calls from women and teens who are seeking to end a pregnancy but can’t afford to. In the short documentary Abortion Helpline, This is Lisa, filmmakers Janet Goldwater, Barbara Hattie and Mike Hattie reveal how economic stigma and cruel legislation determines who in America has access to abortion.
On April 20, please join us for a film screening and panel discussion featuring:
- Christine Castro, attorney at the Women’s Law Project
- David S. Cohen, law professor, WLP board member and author of Obstacle Course: The Everyday Struggle to Get an Abortion in America
- Marah Lange of Women’s Medical Fund
This event will take place on Zoom. It begins at 6:30PM and ends at 8PM.
