Pennsylvania Healthy Birth for Incarcerated Women Act

The Pennsylvania Healthy Birth for Incarcerated Women Act of 2010 makes it illegal to use restraints (such as handcuffs, leg irons, wrist or ankle cuffs, or pepper spray) on a pregnant incarcerated individual in certain situations.  To learn more about incarcerated individuals’ rights under this law—and about how medical providers for incarcerated individuals can help enforce this law—read the publications below.
